Background of problem.
Hi all,
Just recently started to enjoy the camera tracking and motion tracking features in AE, and it seems pretty simple to do. However I have some drone footage shot in 4K that I dropped into PP timeline that was 1080 sequence, it all is fine in PP, but when I replace with AE comp through dynamic link im not able to see all the image, so scale back to 50% in AE bit then get the error about layer
matching.
Successful solutions :
My first attempts where in native 4K both PP and AE
this seemed to work fine, but as it takes soooo long to render, so I created a 1080 PP and then tried to replace with AE doing camera tracker and have the problem.
Questions :
So do I transcode the footage to 1080 first?
Will moving the camera create what i need in relation to seeing more image?
Dont really want to render out to 4k when no one will watch it on that and the majority of other footage is all 1080, in the PP project.
Thoughts ?

sorry that I did not introduce myself.
im not a consumer playing around with mobiles and and playing with software for semis .
as all the other ones, complaining about this and other issues since more than a year now, we are using real cameras , in this case a 360 cam, we know what codec and framerate to use, in this case it is either prores 422HQ or DNxHR-Hq with 25p or 30p.
So ,transcoding unnecessary.
and as so many others in so many different threads , we are experiencing this issue since the software was broken with the release of the april 2018 edition.

Every clip from nearly every cam and shooting is affected……but works in ae14 till 15.0.1.
So : solution :
if adobe can’t handle and fix it…… reshoot it …. I’ll give this advice to our production managers and the management……
except Iphone 8-X every phone on the market is shooting with fixed framerate…only Iphones with selected HEVC codec retranscode to VFR for performance reasons…. samsung for example never does it .

I’m new to AE so forgive me for my lack of knowledge. I’ve been trying to add 3D text in one of my shots but I keep getting »Analysis solve failed». I am trying to add the effect in this single shot I have cut out of the original clip instead of adding the whole video in AE and trimming. Please let me know if I’m wrong for doing this. The shot I want to use is 3840×2160, 0;00;01;17, 29.97 fps. It’s a well lit empty room with one person walking passed the camera as the camera slightly pans to the side following the guy. My hope is to get the 3D text to appear on the wall as he passes the camera. Any help!

Not all shots can be camera-tracked. There needs to be a lot of detail in a lot of fixed geometry in the shot. Fixed geometry means things that don’t move. If it is just a camera pan, then you will not get any usable depth information.
For the kind of a shot you describe, the best tool by far is Mocha AE. Run a corner pin track, then use that to position a pre-composed text layer. This link will take you to just about everything you need to know about using Mocha AE.
In the future, please embed screenshots of your UI with the modified properties of the problem layer showing. Select the problem layer, press ‘uu’ and take a screenshot of the whole thing, then embed it* so we can see what you are dealing with.
* The «Drag & Drop here. » area is buggy and should not be used to share images. Please use the toolbar or just drag your images to the reply field.

sadly doesn’t help me, since I used 3D camera on the clip before, precomposed it and put 3D camera on it, boom it failed. I know it works since I literally did that yesterday too on another video.

@VJ Dev that’s the issue I need the entire video unfortunately. I don’t want to cut any of it off. In my case it’s some roller coaster footage. And I think there’s just too much camera movement to track.

всем привет! может я не первый задаю этот вопрос, но ответа на него я не нашел! почему то иногда появляется ошибка при создании трекинга. не могу понять что с ней делать, может кто знает подскажите пож.

но как то всигда без ошибок было, брал клип, бросал, трекил и все!???
Ну так и сделайте сейчас так же, перетащите Ваш мувик или секвенцию (в зависимости от того, что там у Вас) на кнопку создания композиции, это должно создать новую, с параметрами идентичными исходнику, и затем пробуйте снова. А отсекать, обрезать и что там еще Вам требуеться, будете делать уже с композицией. Это если совсем не заморачиваться. Я вижу, что у Вас слой висит в воздухе, так что похоже, что Вы его масштабировали, двигали и т.п.

спасибо за ответы ! сделал в EDIUSe 10сек размер, поставил расширение 1280Х720 сохранил в AVI — создал композицию (скрин) один фиг! сделал прекомпоз (скрин) один фиг! что за хрень!
что вы имеете в виду «Я вижу, что у Вас слой висит в воздухе,» я же перед тем как кинуть «камеру трекинг» активирую слой !
Было бы лучше посмотреть на информацию о формате «stolav.avi Comp1» и информации о самом исходнике.
