Darkest dungeon ошибка opengl

As title says, and yes i did check the master list of dd fixes and spent a good hour doing some of the suggestions there.

My pc is a desktop, not a laptop, so already most of the fixes around opengl in that thread don’t seem to apply to me. Likewise i have updated latest drivers through geforce (have a nvidia card), but it seems it doesn’t update opengl even though thread says it should (for reference, my version of opengl is still 1.1). Looking around for manual opengl patches to a nvidia geforce card gave me mixed results, the only things i found were experimental files with which to use opengl 4.2 and even on that page they say it’s intended for developpers and consumers should instead update opengl through nvidia geforce (which i already did and it doesn’t update opengl it seems).

At this point my patience wears thin and ready to throw the towel and ask for a refund, but on the off chance there’s an easy solution someone can provide that i’ve overlooked, decided to make a post first. So yeah if anyone can help me out, would be appreciated, cheers.

IIRC Darkest Dungeon requires at least opengl 3.2 and if your gpu doesn’t support it then you won’t get much help.

And yup, DD requires 3.2 opengl and mine is 1.1 yet nvidia geforce doesn’t update it (even though thread of dd fixes says it does) and nor did i find a way to «manually» patch opengl.

As for gpu not supporting game, I was playing DD just fine a few months ago so wtf if that’s the case, i’ve had this game almost since launch!

I downloaded a little program to check that for me.

It tells it is Intel HD Graphics

This game doesn’t work on laptop’s at the moment. I assume they will fix all this.

It is not a graphicly intessive game from what I can tell.

Opimization is one of the last things done in game development. I just didn’t relise it was such and alpha.

I had this issue and found my answer here.
My laptop has an i3 core with intel HD Graphics. My updated drivers are only OpenGL 2.1.
The bypass for the OpenGL check is «at your own risk», but after some searching I gave it a try. This got me to the Red Hook logo screen. After disabling the Steam overlay, I have been able to play with no issues.

Holy crap. someone with the EXACT SAME PROBLEM as me. I’ve got Asus K52Jc i3 with supposed GeForce 310m but it lists at Intel HD and the OpenGl is 2.1 as well.

It’s NOT a graphics intense game. but it won’t run. Skipping the opengl check in the beginning makes it crash.

Hi, I’m trying to run DD on my office PC with a Radeon 4850 gpu, but it don’t starts and a OpenGL error windows say that:

OpenGL Error
Please install the lastest OpenGL drivers for your graphic card (opengl 1.1.0 detected).
A GPU capabable of OpenGL 3.2 or bettere is required.

I already updated Catalyst drivers to latest «amd-catalyst-omega-14.12».
Any way to run DD with this GPU?

EDIT: As other pointed out, please make sure you have the correct and latest drivers installed.

Is that a laptop or such? It sounds more lik eyou have to force the AMD card via the CCC

No, that’s not a mobile GPU.

Edit:
I should add — OpenGL 1.1 means it’s pretty much guaranteed to be a wrong driver issue, not a question of using the integrated GPU, because the only way you could have a graphics device that’s truly only capable of OpenGL 1.1 is if it were about the cheapest GPU available *15 years ago*, which is the last time Intel made anything that limited. Intel have never made an integrated GPU with OpenGL support limited to 1.1.

However, OpenGL 1.1 is the version provided by the built-in Windows support, which has not been updated since Windows 95 (yes, really — MS stopped releasing OpenGL drivers when they released Direct3D). Hence, seeing 1.1 means you’re using the default generic driver.

Hi, i’m not good for a english, but i try it ! I have actually a intell express chipset 41g, annnnnd, i have low open GL. When i launch the game i have a message for a error, who said » download better version for open GL 3.2″ but, i can»t with my chipset, no ?

I kinda have the same problem, but my system says that I have a openGL of 4.2 and I get the same error message.
Drivers are updatet and I tried the diabling the check message — nothing worked :/
