I have a brand new DELL Optiplex 9010 AIO and had problems with the SSD (Adata 512 GB).

The problem started with a blue screen of death (BSOD) in Windows 7. After that each new start results in a BSOD. I tried with a new installation, but it also results in a BSOD when installing. I’ve upgraded to the latest version of the bios A09. The hard drive Diagnostics returns the error code 2000-0145. Try the hard drive in the results on another computer in the same code error when you run the diagnostic tests. Execution of diagnosis with a new hard drive in the computer works well, but when you pass on the original SSD drive the same error recurs.

2000-0145 has to do with a rotation test. Dell actually had a stroke of genius to design a diagnosis that has identified problems hard spin-up and test the integrity of a player. An SSD does not have an engine and cannot return a response appropriate for this part of the test, immediately throws an error. It is not a standard for one SSD to answer with a bypass for a test like this, since it is an exclusive test. Some SSD cannot report this error, while other models will be.

OK, so I have every time I turn on my computer dell laptop (I have windows vista) it acts like it is to install the updates of windows. He said same facility 3/3 even though the completion bar shows 0%. She does this, is like its about to restart then passes to the installation screen. I get the error code 2000-0146 found no operating system, I’m on Windows Vista on a Dell inspiron 1545.

Tried to boot from the CD I can do a disk check but it go than even if loading step and then the green light flowing (as knight rider because….. kit) while he just sits on a gray screen… Any ideas anyone… youn think it’s disk hard totally kaput, or maybe something else… I read on the site that someone changed its ram as 1 was defective and it worked.

I have a Dell Studio 1735 laptop. Today it froze on me. I could only make a hard stop. I tried to log in again and got on the desktop with icons, but couldn’t go further. Don’t have hard stop yet and I tried to go back to the top. I made a kind of diagnostic tests and received the error code 2000-0146 following. Also received the 0F00:065 D error reading DISK_0-self-test and 0F00:137 B DVDRW_1-disk is missing Virgin insert the data disc (example of the RCD). I don’t know what all these means. Can someone direct me if it can be repaired and how I can fix it. Or do I need a new hard drive. Your help is greatly appreciated. I use another laptop to write this message.

The first two messages mean that the hard drive has failed. The third says there is no disc in the DVD drive, so it could not be tested.

So my friend gave me his computer dell laptop. No, it isn’t — unless the operating system was installed on this drive AND the system in question, that it won’t work as a bootable drive.

Unplug the system, remove or disconnect the battery and hold the power for 30 seconds approximately. Turn on and re-run the diagnostic tests — if the same error appears again, the drive is bad. Replace it.

I use a Dell XPS M1330 like a laptop and main computer. I turn off night but work on it fairly regularly throughout the day. I was recently working on this subject, and he’s locked. hi, i recently bought the corsair 128gb extreme series ssd to replace the 7200rpm hard drive in my new dell laptop. Both (SSD & laptop) only been used for 3 weeks. Everything was running well. Then couple days ago i encoutered minor issue related to the graphic card. The dell tech rep reinstalled the NVIDIA G9400M driver then reinstalled the BIOS. But the problem still exist. So the dell tech rep told me it could be the physical graphic card problem and todl me dell will send a tech over to replace the graphic card for me. Later I thought of running a diagnostic check on my system (Fn + power button). After running, when it comes to hard drive, it displayed error code 2000-0145 self test did not complete. Test result displayed «fail», and asked me to continue or not (y/n). Then it went to check the memory. At that point I decided to stop the check.

I called dell immediately and the tech told me that the SSD may have some problem, it may be ok now but down the road will show problem. The tech suggested me to replace the ssd, since my ssd is still under warrently.

My laptop so far has no major problem; i can open applications relatively fast, system boot up/shut down smoothly, CrsyalDiskMark program still able to scan & read the drive. I was wondering will the reinstallation of BIOS cause the error code & so is a false message? Is my SSD having problem & need to replace the SSD soon?

Getting an error message of any kind can be nerve-racking, but one related to your hard drive can be even more stressful. Everything from your work to your precious family photographs could be stored on there, and unless you’ve got it all backed up, there’s a chance you’ll lose it.

Is a hard drive error preventing you from accessing your critical files?

The Most Common Dell Hard Drive Error Codes

PSA 1000-0142 and ePSA 2000-0142

This is a common error code which, in short, means your hard disk drive has failed. The Dell manual suggests reconnecting the SATA cables on the hard drive, but in our experiences, unless the desktop/laptop has had a major drop or collision, it isn’t the cables.

PSA 2000-0141 and ePSA 2000-0141

Error Message: Hard Drive – No drive detected

This is one of the most common error codes seen and it basically means your system BIOS can’t detect a hard drive. If it can’t detect the hard drive, it can’t load the operating system, and that means you can’t use your computer.

There are a few reasons this happens and it could be an easy fix.

Your SATA/IDE cable may not be connected properly. Make sure it is connected properly and restart.
Your SATA/IDE cable may be damaged. Connect a good cable and restart.
Update to the latest BIOS and hard drive firmware and restart.
The BIOS could be corrupt. Remove the CMOS battery for several seconds. That will clear the CMOS memory and reset the BIOS settings to default. Replace and restart the system.
Worst case is hard disk failure. You can diagnose this with a DST (disk self-test). Unfortunately the only way to resolve this is by replacing the drive.

ePSA 2000-0150

Error Message: Hard Drive – No drive detected

On some systems, error code 0150 actually replaces the 0141 code, so it’s basically the same thing. Use the same methods above to try and solve the issue.
