Столкнулся с проблемой в игре Medal of Honor Alied Assault на windows 7 на широкоформатном мониторе с разрешением 1680:1050 . Постоянно выскакивала ошибка GLW_StartOpenGL() — could not load OpenGL subsystem при выставлении разрешения выше 1280:1024 . на многих сайтах внятного ответа толком объясняющего исправление ошибки не было.
Что бы исправить ошибку GLW_StartOpenGL() — could not load OpenGL subsystem нужно
Зайти в папку с установленной игрой, далее зайти в каталог main потом в каталог config в нем размещается файл unnamedsoldier.cfg открываем его блокнотом и дописываем туда

seta cg_rain «1» //эффект погоды
seta r_colorbits «32» // глубина цвета
seta r_texturebits «32» //качество текстур
seta r_ext_compressed_textures «1» //сжатие текстур

Для тех кому лень изменять самому вот готовый конфиг скачать для разрешения 1680:1050 который нужно разместить с заменой в каталог Medal of Honor Allied Assaultmainconfigs

I recently bought Medal of Honor Allied Assualt, it works perfectly on my pc but wont work on my little brothers. it, but that’s pretty much all you can do. This is a bummer cos i If it still doesn’t work, then getting another was looking forward to network play.

After installing a game I realized that it was’nt running right so I opted to uninstall it and then reinstall it.

Всем привет! На какие я форумы не писал пока что ответа еще не было. Ну значит опишу все максимально подробно.
Был у меня комп такой вот: 224 мб оперативки, 32 мб видеопамяти. Жил с таким раскладом лет 7-9. дня 2-3 назад отнес я комп в ремонт немного улутшить его. Поставили мне значит вот что: 512 мб оперативки, и видеокарту Nvidia GeForce 6600
Ну принес я его домой игры не шли, отнес обратно они там с дровами повозились, все наладили. Игрухи мои пашут нормально но есть некоторые нюансы. Вот знаете навно многие такие замечательные игры как Return to castle Wolfenstein, Medal of Honor и 2 ее официальных дополнения, Call of Duty и дополнение. Все насколько знаю на одном движке. Первая и третья идут без каких-либо проблем. А вот со второй проблема. Дело в том что на прошлой видюхе и оперативке она нормально запускалась и работала. Теперь-же не в какую не хочет. Переустановка не помогает. При запуске появляется как думаю знаете игровая консоль, затем серенький экран со стрелочкой, после чего игровое меню. Но игровое меню как ни странно не появляется, а вместо него выскакивает ошибка с предложение отправить отчет и т.п. Вот скрины. 
Я сам в компах не мастер, но может кто из вас хорошо разбирается, и сможет помочь решить проблему. Если поможете буду вам очень благодарен!) Заранее спасибо!=)

Yes, it works on W10, but it’s not always necessary.
By the way, it’s just GLDirect (opengl>d3d9 wrapper).

На ATI проблем может быть и нет, но на последних NVidia она имеется…
Дальние объекты, на определенном расстоянии не прорисовываются, а упрощаются до одного, сплошного прямоугольника на пол-экрана…………………эдакий артифакт……………….
Примерно три четверти игры, прохожу без проблем, далее сдедует, описанная мной выше, как бы ее назвать, проблема…
Да, чуть не забыл, аддоны перестали устанавливаться, ставлю медаль, а сперхед и бректро не ставятся…

Проблема с OpenGL
На современном компе, в устаревшие, уже непоиграешь, а жаль.
У меня, вроде все пучком, было, до того, как дошел до OMAHA, там OPEN GL, выдает такаое.
Билин, или переходить на эмуль или не играть. очень жаль. ведь эта игра, как раритет. вдь эта игра родоночальник игр с военной тематикой.
Не sadirk,ты не прав. У меня комп Процессор Intel Core 2 Quad 2.83G и видеокарта Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD4870(512 Мб)-и все нормально работает.Игру Medal of Honor:Allied Assault всю прошел и не одной ошибки не выскакивало!

«Go to mainconfigs. Delete «unnamedsoldier.cfg.» Run the game once, and set all of the settings how you like them, EXCEPT for the game resolution (you can adjust the color depth, though). Now open up the newly generated «unnamedsoldier.cfg» file. Scroll down to the «cvars» section. Add these lines in:

The US and EU versions are forbidden to be distributed in Germany because they contain symbols which are regarded as unconstitutional (e.g. swastika). For the German version the developers had to remove any appearances of swastikas. Most of them are replaced with an Iron Cross. Additionally in the level «Scuttling the U-529» all Hitler salutes were removed.
I know that the original Commandos game (sold on GOG) does not work on computers set to German. To play them you have to set the region settings in Windows to English or German (Luxemburg). Worth a shot?

I can’t believe this worked
I’ve been having the «can’t load OpenGL subsystem» error message for days now no matter what I’ve tryed to fix the problem every time I tryed to play call of duty or medal of honor.
But I suddenly noticed that the console in M.O.H mentions something about 3DFX towards the end (I cant remember exactly what it says) but anyway it got me thinking that years ago with my old Voodoo3 card you couldn’t play certain on games without installing glide2.43. So off I went to a 3DFX web site and got myself these files, glide2x.dll, glide3x.dll and glide2x.ovl. I removed the files: opengl32.dll and opengl32.dll.tmp from the windows system32 folder and kept them in a safe place just in cast I had to restore them. then put glide2x.dll and glide3x.dll in the system32 folder and glide2x.ovl in the windows directory and «HEY PRESTO» all my games work perfectly. but I ask myself «Why does it work»
by the way I’m using WinXP Pro SP2, Saphire Radeon 9550se 128mb, 512mb memory, xp2500 barton all on an Asus A7V8X-X

im having something of the same issue
Ok, so mine error message is slightly different. ive looked over it several times and theres no «3dfx» in it. Ive tried most of the standard stuff, get old drivers uninstall, get drivers with disc’s, uninstall. new drivers, unistall. i even look around my entire system to EVERY folder to find some kind of alternate folder that i do not no about.

none of these work cause of this «console» type system. all of my other games work that dont require it. such as battlefeild 1942, axis and allies, freespace 2 source code project. varuios others. i have just formatted my drive and before then every game worked fine. ive download the drivers for my card but no progress yet. heres what i have and the error message.

I have heard selective reports of OpenGL not working properly in the current Windows 7 ATi drivers. It’s possible that the implementation has changed in Windows 7, and driver manufacturers have yet to catch up.
I loved Windows 7 until it failed to load the only game I play (which, incidentally, I play almost religiously). It’s Smokin’ Guns, a standalone game based on the Quake3 engine. When I try to run it I get this output:
My hardware is very old (Dell Optiplex 170L desktop with integrated Intel graphics), but before I upgraded to the Windows 7 RC, I had XP installed and the game ran perfectly. My video driver is up-to-date (though it was broken when I first installed the RC). Microsoft seems to have neglected support for OpenGL in Windows 7? Please tell me they’ll put it in eventually; the reason I’m using the 7 RC is because XP crapped out on me; I really don’t have much to go back to.
Hello, Reviewing your log file it would seem there is driver that is failing to load on your machine. 3dfxvgl.dll is failing to load via loadlibrary. Please make sure you have this binary on your machine at the path specified in your log file.

Note that I’m curious. Is this binary on your machine?
Do you have 3dfx interactive hardware in your machine?
Open GL is still supported. This seems to be a configuration related issue based on your log file.
Note that Windows 7 ships with OpenGL32.DLL and it loaded successfully in your application log.

Thank you for your suggestions. I do have the 3dfxvgl.dll in my System32 folder, and it did not seem to make a difference. There are no hidden graphic controller devices installed. I’ve asked around everywhere and from what I can gather from responses, Windows has pulled a little of its OpenGL support for older versions and hardware (which I have both) and expected graphics manufacturers to pick up the slack if they so choose. Intel, apparently, did not— at least not for older hardware like mine. I’m currently digging around to find some other form of (non-Intel) graphics hardware in order to set it up and test that theory.
The main problem here seems to be the GLW_ChoosePFD action. I don’t really know what that means. What I can gather, though, is that OpenGL is recognized and started, but some core part of it fails. Specifically, finding a pixelformat. whatever that is. 3dfxvgl.dll seems to be a fallback, but I don’t think it was ever meant to be used by the game’s designers (they modified Quake 3 code, so they might not have continued support for it).
Not sure if I made it clear in the OP, but nothing has changed about my computer setup. A summary of the problem is that when I had XP, OpenGL worked fine; now I have 7, and it does not. While I had assumed it was fault on the part of Windows 7, it now seems to me that the problem lies with Intel’s lack of legacy support. which, I suppose, I cannot blame them too much for. Legacy support is a luxury I have grown rather used to. Still, I would think with such economy people would be trying to wax life out of their old PCs like I am, and would greatly appreciate it.
Anyways, I hate to just go on about a problem. I’d like to also note that I’m enjoying my Windows 7 experience overall and really appreciate the work put into it. Thanks.
