Windows Defender Firewall.

Blizzard

Modern Warfare 2, released in 2009, is still considered one of the most popular Call of Duty titles. However, some players have encountered an error code that prevents them from playing the game. The error code in question is HUENEME – NEGEV, which is related to internet connectivity issues. This article will discuss the causes of this error code and how to fix it.

First, let’s understand what the HUENEME – NEGEV error code means. HUENEME is a US city in California, while NEGEV is a desert region in Israel. In the context of Call of Duty, these names represent two different regions. The error code appears when the game fails to connect to the server in either of these regions. This indicates a problem with the player’s internet connection.

How to Fix Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Error Code HUENEME – NEGEV

There are several reasons why the HUENEME – NEGEV error code may occur. The most common reason is an unstable internet connection. The game requires a stable and strong internet connection to function correctly. If the internet connection is slow or inconsistent, the game may fail to connect to the server, resulting in the error code.

Another reason for the HUENEME – NEGEV error code is a problem with the player’s network settings. Sometimes, the player’s network settings may conflict with the game’s requirements, preventing it from connecting to the server.

Now, let’s look at the possible solutions to fix the HUENEME – NEGEV error code.

Change the region of the account

The first solution is to change the region of the account. If the game fails to connect to the server in one region, try switching to another region. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Battle.net launcher and click on the game settings.
  2. Click on “Game Region” and select a different region from the list.
  3. Save the changes and try to connect to the game again.

Try Using a VPN

I was playing Warzone 2 DMZ when I got this error, and I tried a lot of fixes, but the only way I could play the game was when I used a VPN. This is an odd fix and indeed not satisfactory, as it requires you to pay for a VPN service, and even then, the ping is too high, but it’s manageable if you have a good VPN.

Disable Teredo

Another solution to fix the HUENEME – NEGEV error code is to disable the Teredo IPV6 service. Teredo is a Windows default service that allows devices to communicate using IPV6 addresses. However, sometimes, this service can cause conflicts with the game’s network requirements. To disable Teredo, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
  2. Type “services.msc” and press Enter.
  3. Find the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface service and right-click on it.
  4. Click on Properties and select Disabled from the Startup type dropdown menu.
  5. Click on Apply and OK to save the changes.

Change DNS settings

Changing the DNS settings may also help fix the HUENEME – NEGEV error code. Sometimes, the default DNS settings provided by the internet service provider (ISP) may be slow or unreliable. To change the DNS settings, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
  2. Type “ncpa.cpl” and press Enter.
  3. Right-click on your active network connection and click on Properties.
  4. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties.
  5. Select “Use the following DNS server addresses” and enter Google’s DNS addresses (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) or any other reliable DNS service.
  6. Click on OK to save the changes.

You can try the same fix on the console and change the DNS servers to the ones we have shown above for PC.

Connect to a hotspot

If none of the above solutions work, try connecting to a hotspot. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Turn on the hotspot on your mobile device.
  2. Connect your computer to the hotspot network.
  1. Start the game and try to connect to the server.
  2. Once the game connects to the server, switch back to your Wi-Fi network.
  3. Go back to the game and wait for it to reconnect to the server.

A hotspot may work because there may be a problem with the static IP or something else on the network provider’s end. Changing the network and using another internet provider, such as a mobile hotspot, may work.

Restart the hotspot

Another solution to fix the error code is to restart the hotspot. The hotspot connection may become unstable, resulting in an error code. To continue the hotspot, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the hotspot on your mobile device.
  2. Wait for a few seconds and turn it back on.
  3. Connect your computer to the hotspot network.
  4. Start the game and try to connect to the server.

Connect to a Different Network

If the above solutions do not work, you can try connecting to a different network. Sometimes, the issue may be related to your current network configuration, and switching to a different network may help fix the issue.

Call Your Internet Company

There were some errors in Vanguard when it came out caused by an issue with the static IP. The problems could be resolved on the network provider’s end. But it also depends on luck, as you may get a lazy guy who would dismiss it, saying the issue is on your end. But, some users report that getting in touch with the network provider support helped them fix the MW2 and Warzone 2 error code HUENEME – NEGEV.

Reset the Router

If you check the back of your router, you will notice a small button. Pushing the button will reset the router and remove any bad cache. Your router can also store cache, and like any other device, such as a console or PC, the cache can get corrupted, which may lead to the issue. Also, try powering off the router for 5 minutes once reset, and then try to play the game again.

Hard Reset the Console

This is the same fix as the above but on the console end. The fix applies to consoles, both PS and Xbox. Try to hard reset the console and it will clear the cache. Once the device boots up again, try playing the game and check if the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Error Code HUENEME – NEGEV is resolved.

Reinstall the Game

Reinstalling the game is another solution that may help fix the HUENEME – NEGEV error code in Modern Warfare 2. This solution is beneficial if the issue is caused by corrupted or missing game files. Reinstalling the game will replace the existing files with fresh, updated ones, which may resolve the issue.

By following these steps, players can enjoy playing Modern Warfare 2 without any interruptions caused by the HUENEME – NEGEV error code in Modern Warfare 2
