Meaning of the
error code Sc491

The error code
Sc491-00 stands for High voltage power. bias charge leak occurred for drum
unit, developer unit, or secondary transfer unit. The error signal is
identified for 0.2 seconds while charging the drum or developer. Usually, these
codes come when the drum unit or Developer unit is bad. This error may be due
to many reasons. You have to find the exact cause of this error. So check one
by one until it gets solved.

Solution for
the error code sc491

• Make sure the
  connectors on the front of all drum units are properly seated.
• Clean the contacts of all color drum units and developer units.
• Check the secondary
  transfer unit.
• Check the high
  voltage supply unit. Replace it if necessary.
• Check the
  HVPS-CB board. Replace it if necessary.

   Drum/dev bias error — replace high voltage supply unit

   Drum/dev bias error — replace drum unit(s)

    Can’t we just delete such time-waster topics if people aren’t qualified enough to start threads with some kind of minimum informations we need in order to give support, like:

    — model?
    — what issue/symptome?
    — is it permanent/sporadically?
    — already performed measures?
    — PM status of the machine (in case it might be relevant)

    Maybe, after some public brainstorming, a mod can write a little guide and make it sticky somewhere so at least we don’t need to teach pre-school basics and re-invent the wheel all the time. Maybe it’s just me thinking that these insufficiant threads are a growing phenomenon.
