Hello,
I can’t seem to fix this issue. I created a GPO to run a logon script to install an MSI package and I’m getting an error 1925 — You do not have sufficient privileges to complete this installation for all users of the machine.
I know we can install the MSI package using the Software Installation in Policy > Software Installation (or something like this) but our MSI package just couldn’t get installed this way.
I’ve tried the startup script to no avail. I»m almost at my wits end here. Any help would be appreciated.
Our script runs this way:
1. Check if the program already exists, if not, proceed to #2
2. msiexec /i file path in the network /qn /L C:templogs.txt
3. end
I can see that the gpo runs due to the Log it creates but returns an error as stated above.

I’ve done a lot of Google searches regarding this and tried different approach. I have lost the website that I found suggesting to use the software installation GPO and unblock the software from its properties. That fixed my issue.

Problem
When attemping to install the Clarity Visualizer installation package, the user will receive an error.
Symptom
Error received during the installation process of Visualizer:
Error 1925. You do not have sufficient privileges to complete this
installation for all users of the machine. Log on as an administrator
and then retry this installation
Cause
Issue was related to the file not being unlocked under the Properties of the EXE file:
Diagnosing The Problem
Launch the Clarity Visualizer installer package and the installation will automatically fail and prompt with the error message.
Resolving The Problem
To unlock the file, right click on the Executable file and select properties. Under the General Tab, click the «Unblock» button if it is an available option.

есть два контроллера домена, 2003 SE R2 SP2. все работало нормально, но вдруг перестала работать репликация.
на pdc постоянно сыпется вот эта ошибка 1925 , а на втором контроллере постоянно сообщается, что первый контроллер недоступен по ДНС. бред.
какие есть пути решения проблемы?

[FATAL] No DNS servers have the DNS records for this DC registered.красота какая. вопрос — у нас в сети до создания второго DC было два ДНС сервера — первый 0.4, на фрихе, и второй 0.5, он же PDC. на PDC ессно в качестве ДНС сервера указано 127.0.0.1 . вопрос — а как тогда настраивать ДНС на втором контроллере домена?

на первом DC указывай
как первый DNS — настоящий IP этого сервера,
как второй DNS — настоящий IP второго DNS сервера.Соответственно так-же и на втором DC
Потом для начала перезгрузи DNS сервис на первом DC — и посмотри что получится… возможно все заработает.
Если нет, то после этого можешь первый и второй DC перезагрузить — оно должно само что надо зарегистрировать при этом.
А можешь взять утилиту nltest и ей перерегистрировать, либо найти файл C:WindowsSystem32confignetlogon.dns на первом и втором DC и проверить что описанные в этом файлике записи в DNS есть.

то есть на двух виндовых ДС — вообще не указывать 0.4 ДНС сервер на фрихе?

0.5а при этом на всех виндовых рабочих станциях у нас настройки такие —
1 ДНС 0.4 на фрихе
2 ДНС 0.5 PDCтам на фрихе ничо менять не придется?

ИМХО лучше было бы на DC и на первом и втором указать в качестве DNS 0.5 и 0.20
Зона должна быть интегрирована в AD.
На рабочих станциях я бы тоже указал DNS, которые находятся на DС, чтобы не было проблем с динамической регистрацией рабочих станций в DNS. -

Если DNS на фряхе используется для резольвинга внешних адресов, то проще будет настроить DNS на контроллерах на форвардинг запросов к DNS-у на фряхе и на клиентах прописывать только DNS-ы, которые на контроллерах.

1. В ветке все ж плюсы минусы описаны. МЛМ если два контроллера то лучше перекресно, если более то варианты
2. Зачем секондари, если зона в ад сохранена, ставь на втором дц днс, и ни какой настройки не надо, он сам из ад притянет зону как праймари. -

Только что значит первичная и вторичная зоны, когда разговор ведется о зоне, которая должна быть интегрированной в AD?

Could you please tell me OS version on your system?
You can right click on the setup file and select the option «Run as Administrator».
Also you can try this, if its windows, you need to activate the root administrator account.
For this you need to do this:
1. Open Command prompt by right clicking on it and run it as admin.
2. In the command prompt type the below command:
net user administrator /active:yes
let us know if this helps.

Проблема такая. Сейчас не в Москве. Ноутбук — рабочий. Для того чтобы что-то установить нужны права администратора, которых нет.
При установке стима пишет: error 1925. Нет прав для установки. Зайдите под админом, чтобы установить.
Понятное дело что пасса для админа у меня нет.
Есть какой-то способ как обойти это?
Если кто-то поможет, то могу дать инвайт для доты2, если надо.

Здравствуйте.
Единственная возможная причина — это отсутствие администраторских прав, как и написано в логе. MSI-пакет — это не программа, это база данных с информацией для установки. Самой установкой занимается msiexec, который является частью Windows. Если он пишет, что нет прав, то это может означать только одно — нет прав.
Для работы и установки программы не требуется никаких специальных разрешений и прав, кроме обычных администраторских.
В Windows с включенным UAC пользователь по умолчанию не имеет администраторских прав (даже если состоит в группе администраторов). У каждого пользователя может быть основной токен безопасности и linked-токен. Основной токен не имеет администраторских прав, linked-токен может иметь более высокие права (права администратора). При проходе через UAC права пользователя могут быть повышены до администраторских (за счет использования linked-токена). Возможно причина в этом. Попробуйте запустить тот же батник через меню по правой кнопке мыши («Запустить от имени администратора»). Если это поможет, то это именно работа UAC.
Что касается ярлыков, то на данный момент нет возможности выбрать их отключение при установке в тихом режиме, но в следующих версиях я постараюсь это сделать.

Could you please tell me OS version on your system?
You can right click on the setup file and select the option «Run as Administrator».
Also you can try this, if its windows, you need to activate the root administrator account.
For this you need to do this:
1. Open Command prompt by right clicking on it and run it as admin.
2. In the command prompt type the below command:
net user administrator /active:yes
let us know if this helps.

Проблема такая. Сейчас не в Москве. Ноутбук — рабочий. Для того чтобы что-то установить нужны права администратора, которых нет.
При установке стима пишет: error 1925. Нет прав для установки. Зайдите под админом, чтобы установить.
Понятное дело что пасса для админа у меня нет.
Есть какой-то способ как обойти это?
Если кто-то поможет, то могу дать инвайт для доты2, если надо.

В моей настройке wix я использую InstallScope=»perMachine». В интерактивной настройке проблем нет, и мое приложение устанавливается идеально. Однако, когда я пытаюсь установить его из командной строки с помощью /qn, я получаю следующую ошибку.
MSI (s) (60:EC) [11:51:05:268]: Product: ClickShare Launcher -- Error 1925. You do not have sufficient privileges to complete this installation for all users of the machine. Log on as administrator and then retry this installation.

Вы можете попробовать установить установку для каждого пользователя / для машинного кода в качестве параметра
C:UsersxxxxxDesktop>msiexec /i "program.msi" MSIINSTALLPERUSER=1 ALLUSERS=2 /qn
это помогло нам в приложении, которое НЕ требовало прав администратора в интерактивном режиме, но требовало прав администратора в автоматическом режиме….
возможно, это поможет некоторым другим пользователям в будущем … (из поиска в Google)

Начиная с Windows Vista, MSI устанавливает, запускаемый из стандартного пользовательского процесса, требующего повышения прав, не может этого сделать при запуске silent. Это связано с UAC. Поднимите процесс перед вызовом msiexec.

Hello,
I can’t seem to fix this issue. I created a GPO to run a logon script to install an MSI package and I’m getting an error 1925 — You do not have sufficient privileges to complete this installation for all users of the machine.
I know we can install the MSI package using the Software Installation in Policy > Software Installation (or something like this) but our MSI package just couldn’t get installed this way.
I’ve tried the startup script to no avail. I»m almost at my wits end here. Any help would be appreciated.
Our script runs this way:
1. Check if the program already exists, if not, proceed to #2
2. msiexec /i file path in the network /qn /L C:templogs.txt
3. end
I can see that the gpo runs due to the Log it creates but returns an error as stated above.

Hello,
Thank you for following up. I apologize for the lack of response.
I’ve done a lot of Google searches regarding this and tried different approach. I have lost the website that I found suggesting to use the software installation GPO and unblock the software from its properties. That fixed my issue.
