I agree with Maravilho Singa’s answer. It appears to be a bug in gradle.

I found another solution here:

removing the .gradle directory in the root project directory will fix the problem.

Just delete the .gradle directory and rebuild app.
Undo Try to bring back .gradle directory. There by your error will be removed.

I think it has something to do with iCloud. I’ve found that each time that happens with my projects it’s because the .gradle file had been uploaded into iCloud and was no longer available in my computer. So either delete the .gradble file and have it regenerated, or recover it from iCloud by clicking it.

  1. Empty all «build» folders in your project
  2. Copy all your project files and folders
  3. Create a new folder and past it there
  4. Open android Studio and import project
  5. Wait Android Studio to download all dependecies.

That’s all. It will work perfectly

This is gradle bug. Go to your project folder, delete your gradle and build folder. Sync the project with gradle files. This will resolve the problem.

I stuck in the problem like this. What I done is Delete the .Gradle Folder From the Project File.

Then Built and Clean the Project. Certainly my problem is only resolved by this.

EDIT: @lacasseio let me know if you would like me to open a new issue with this

Just came across this issue, running:

MacOS Sierra: 10.12.6
Java: 1.8
Gradle: 3.3

I was in the middle of building when the computer shut down because the battery died. Went back and docked at my desk, so moved the USB port in the phone to a hub I have, not sure if that had anything to do.

Tried «Invalidate caches and restart» in Android Studio and it didn’t fix the issue.

But I have received an error as follows in the TestNG ,
java.lang.NullPointerException: null value in entry: url=null

Please help me to find a solution for this.

Вчера я обновил Android studio до версии 3.3, после обновления редактор сообщал об ошибке после некоторой компиляции.

Error:null value in entry: streamOutputFolder=null

Тогда его нельзя скомпилировать.
Позже Baidu и Google обнаружили, что такой ошибки не было, но были похожие ошибки, например:

 Error:null value in entry: outputDirectory=null
Error:null value in entry: resOutputDir=null
Error:Null value in entry: dependencyCacheDir=null

Кто-то дал ответ в StackOverFlow: Похоже, это ошибка в Gradle;

Решение

Удалите папку .gradle в корневом каталоге проекта, а затем Очистите, Rebulid.

  1. It’s driving me crazy! AHHH!

    Here is my full error:
    http://paste.ubuntu.com/23282360/

The class giving the error [LootListener]:
    http://paste.ubuntu.com/23282363/

Referenced variables [the ones giving the error] are defined here [LootTables]:
    http://paste.ubuntu.com/23282365/

My issue is that sometimes (RARELY!) I am about to pick a chest (the inventory in LootListener.java) and I can click and drag it around without getting my item. (This is a lottery plugin) <== Meaning that there is an error being returned and the listener stops where it is. The debug messages sending the player the ItemStack, name, Rarity (separate java file). The plugin sometimes returns the error on the ItemStack, at times on the name, and sometimes on the rarity. The reason for this is because sometimes when trying to send the messages to the player, I get the error above. If I don’t have the debug messages, the code will return the same thing later on in the plugin. Is there something stupid I am missing? I tried storing the key in the HashMaps as Strings (for the player names) and UUIDs.

    Nope, not a clue :(

  3. @mehboss I see that very well, thank you. The line of the error changes each time, which doesn’t help. Also, I don’t see any way why line 47 could return null.

  4. @Orion31
Line 47? line 47 is this

  5. Order matters. You have to make sure the item is not null before getting the type.

    Also:

This is more of a hack than anything else. Also, this really has the potential for problems to occur. All a player needs to do is somehow figure out a way to break the command and they become OP.

@Zombie_Striker Not to forget that if they are OP already then they will lose it.

  7. @Zombie_Striker Thanks! I’ll keep that in mind. Also, the reason I do that op thing is that if I wanted someone to be able to rank up, I need to give them permission to run the promotion command.
@timtower I first check if they are op. If they are, I just execute the command, without using setOp at all. If they are not op, I op them, make them perform the command, and then deop them right after.

  8. @Orion31
Well you should probably change the method you’re doing this, or at least include some more checks to see if the item even has a lore, because right now all you would need to do to op yourself is get an item without lore and named «Command» into the LootTables.pendingRarity Map which would trigger a NullPointerException when you get the lore in the performCommand statement, causing the player to never be de-opped. (You may already be checking for this when adding the item, I’m just making sure that you’re aware of it, after all, you don’t want people to be able to op themselves.)

  9. I tried debugging and figured out that #37 on my random loot list returns null now and then, but rarely, and since #37 is a COMMON item, so #36 and #38 are also COMMON. COMMON items go on the list eight times. However, it is only #37 that generates this error. The line that causes the error is:

    1. super.sendMessage(ChatColor.GREEN + "You won " + name + ChatColor.GREEN + "!", p);

    Also:

    1. (String name = LootTables.pendingNames.get(p.getName())

@AlvinB I have the plugin set up so that if the name of the item is «Command» it will have only one line for a lore.

Solution 1

I agree with Maravilho Singa’s answer. It appears to be a bug in gradle.

I found another solution here:

removing the .gradle directory in the root project directory will fix the problem.

Solution 2

Just delete the .gradle directory and rebuild app.
Undo Try to bring back .gradle directory. There by your error will be removed.

Solution 3

I think it has something to do with iCloud. I’ve found that each time that happens with my projects it’s because the .gradle file had been uploaded into iCloud and was no longer available in my computer. So either delete the .gradble file and have it regenerated, or recover it from iCloud by clicking it.

Solution 4

  1. Empty all «build» folders in your project
  2. Copy all your project files and folders
  3. Create a new folder and past it there
  4. Open android Studio and import project
  5. Wait Android Studio to download all dependecies.

That’s all. It will work perfectly

Solution 5

delete the .gradle file from the root directory and then clean the project, by this your .gradle file be recreated and your error will be resolved.

Comments

  • I am getting following error in gradle build.

    Error:null value in entry: incrementalFolder=null

    How can I fix this?

  • It’s a bug from Android Studio, and it’s not related anywhere.

  • Work fine after removing the .gradle directory in the root and the clean build

  • Looks like that was my problem too. I just navigated to my folder on Finder, right clicked and click on «Download now». Then it downloaded my folder back from iCloud to my computer. I closed Android Studio, open again, and it works now =) Thank you

  • Just get rid of the .gradle folder. No need to go through 5 steps.

  • As a general rule for anybody reading this answer: First move (rename) the folder, try the solution, if it works then remove that folder you don’t need anymore. Safer than just removing stuff people on the internet told you to remove.

  • I’m on Windows, but using TFS with Git, so it’s gotta be the versioning or update/storing commonality

  • This will solve the problem. But every time I get the problem?

  • the .gradle folder was hidden and not visible in my mac Finder. Open terminal and run the command » ls -ltra » (ignore double quotes) to see the .gradle folder and then run the command » rm -rf .gradle» to delete the folder. This fixed my problem

  • It seems to be a file corrupt problem on build. Right?

  • same happened to me, I just dragged the android project folder from the cloud back to my desktop and then it worked again.

  • …<APP_NAME>.gradle this is hidden folder, so check if you can see hidden folders first

  • i’ll try this didn’t help for me u have any other solution.

  • @mujeeb pressing Command Shift . (dot) reveals the hidden files, leave the terminal alone ))

  • @arekolek as a general rule use git and you will never need to secretly move, carefully rename or be afraid to change anything

  • @rommex .gradle folder is normally one of the entries in .gitignore, so git can’t help here
