In the article it notes the adverse impact on scanning to network share folders — 

According to Pyle, the only reasons to continue to use SMB 1 include:

  • You’re still running XP or WS2003 under a custom support agreement.
  • You have some decrepit management software that demands admins browse via the ‘network neighborhood’ master browser list.
  • You run old multi-function printers with antique firmware in order to «scan to share.»

I had been scanning to a share folder successfully for 2-3 years.

After installing a Windows 10 update last week, I now consistently get «031-530 SMB path error» when trying to scan from my Fuji Xerox DocuPrint M255 multifunction printer.

Scanning initiated from a twain driver on my PC is still working.

Сегодня убил целый день в поиске решения.
Все делалось путем проб. Я не айтишник.

Исходные данные
Модель WorkCentre 3045 NI
У меня было возможно ошибочное представление, что сканирование в сеть возможно только по проводному подключению. Поэтому я подключил сетевыми шнурами МФУ и лаптоп к сетевому роутеру.

Ошибка создания файла
Если ошибка в создании файла — проверял свойства доступа сетевой папки. «Пользователь», под которым «принтер заходит на комп для создания и сохранения файла» должен иметь полные права на создание файлов в нужной папке.
В режиме «Админа» открыл доступ «Пользователю», которого прописывал в адресе. Затем сменил пользователя и зашел под «Пользователем».
Проверил путем простой команды из выпадающего меню «правого клика» <Создать>. С первого раза не прошло. Но в итоге — если все правильно сделано в настройках доступа, то система разрешает создание файла. Если это наступило — эта часть вопроса закрыта.

Прописывание адреса
Во вложенном файле можно увидеть как у меня прописан путь.
Достаточно было указать «Сетевую папку». Система сама ее видит и все делает.
Раньше пытался в 1-ой графе вписать имя папки, во 2-ой графе имя компа/сети. Не работало.
Принтер кидал ошибки 031-530, 031-533.Ошибка пути SMB.
Пришлось сначала по совету менять чего-то в настройках сетевого доступа. Возможно и не нужно было делать. Не помогало.

Методом проб получилось, что

достаточно короткой записи названия сетевой папки в графе 1
при условии наличия открытого доступа к этой папке для Пользователя, через которого вы хотите закидывать файлы на комп

УРА — СКАНИРУЕТ !!!

Мои вопросы, которые будут при наличии времени и желания выяснены:
1) по возможности сделать сетевое сканирование по Wi-Fi (хотя бы путь от роутера до ПК)
2) узнать есть ли настройки синтаксиса названий

– Before you continue with the reprogramming of the firmware, please make sure that the device is installed on your computer.
It is very important that under no circumstances should you remove the chip from the cartridge while reprogramming the firmware. After you have succesfully reprogrammed the printer, remove the chip from the cartridge and store it somewhere safely (the chip – a key). In all cartridges which you are going to use in the printer, the chip has to be either removed or sealed. If you have accidently inserted a new cartridge without removing the chip, the device will be blocked. In order to unblock it, you can use the stored chip as a key which help you to unblock the printer.
– And make sure that any other devices (except mouse and keyboard), which are connected to your computer via USB or LPT ports are disconnected. It’s preferable that the computer is connected to the “UPS” (uninterruptible power source) device, because if during the reprogramming process the electricity source has any interruptions, then the reprogramming will be carried out with an error, which makes the device unable to work.
– This firmware will be installed directly to your printer. Before opening firmare link make sure that printer is turned on and connected to your computer and printer drivers are installed correctly.
Be aware that with the reprogramming of the firmware the manufacturer’s warranty goes lost!!
