Unfortunately, there are no such options in the BIOS settings for this computer. Others have solved it by purchasing additional hardware or replacing the graphics cards. I would like to avoid doing that if I can.
If I press the F1 key, the computer works perfectly fine. I’m setting up a computer in a lab that university students will use, though, so I don’t want to keep showing them this intimidating message.
Are there any software solutions to this problem? If not, is there some way of plugging in monitors into the computer that will consistently prevent this message from showing up? I believe I can obtain more monitors and cables to finish setting up the lab if I need to.
So I recently just picked up an old Dell OptiPlex 780, that came with a dell mouse and keyboard, and a Dell 15″ basic VGA monitor. I was planning on using this computer at home for normal internet browsing but I ran into a problem…
I plugged in all the cables and what not. VGA cable is plugged in to the monitor then right into the back of the tower into the only VGA port. When starting up, it immediately redirects me to a screen and gives me an error reading:
«This computer has an add-in graphics card, but the monitor cable is plugged into the integrated video connector. To attach the monitor cable to the add-in graphics card:
1.Shut down the computer
2. Plug the monitor cable into the add-in graphics card connector. This may require a video adapter or video adapter cable.
3. Turn on the computer»
Anyone know what’s wrong with this? Everything is Dell so I do not know why it wouldn’t work, nor am I aware of any added in graphics card because I bought it stock. I have a DVI to VGA adaptor on hand… but theres no DVI port on the back of the tower! Windows 10 error — Unsupported video configuration detected. Action is required. This computer has an add-in graphics card, but the monitor cable is plugged into the integrated video connector…
Issue:
You connected the monitor to the onboard video port, bypassing a third-party video card (e.g. NVidia, etc.), and began the Windows 10 install. You did this in order to see the BIOS setup screens to change the boot order. See Keyliner article: Black or Hung BIOS Setup Screen XPS 8700
Solution:
1. Power off the computer, as instructed on the error
2. Chose one of these options or the other:
a. Physically remove the third-party video card and keep the Display Port or Onboard Video
b. Or disconnect the onboard video cable and only use the third-party video card
Middle of a Windows 10 Install?
If you were in the middle of a Windows 10 installation, boot the computer. At the «Press any key to boot from CD» — do nothing… wait. Allow the computer to boot from the hard drive and the Windows install will continue from before the error.
If you allow Windows 10 to finish the install using the onboard video, wait for a finished desktop to appear. Then, power-down the computer and re-install the third-party video. Detatch the onboard video cable. Reboot. Then install the (NVidia or third-party video drivers). If found this to be difficult and frustrating process. Unfortunately, I did not record the exact steps.

Проблема такая при включении показывает Attention: Unsupported Video Configuration Detected
я игнорируя это пробовал установить винду, но после копирования фаилов, установки и перезагрузки
опять появляется это Attention: Unsupported Video Configuration Detected и винда просто так не грузится.
если в биосе сбросить настройки и перезагрузить, то пойдет загрузка винды и черный экран и все больше ничего.
я пробовал подключить внешний монитор через переходник hdmi to vga, но увы, ноль реакции нажатие f8 и fn не помогает!
В гугле подобной проблемы именно с ноутбуком не нашел!
Если вы сталкивались с подобной проблемой именно на ноутбуке и знаете как решить ее пожалуйста подскажите!
