Citrix Box

Citrix Receiver

Run (regedit.msc)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Wow6432Node Citrix ICA Client Engine

Citrix.

Problem

User logs onto the Citrix storefront website (which hosts the Controller application).

User authenticates to the website, then clicks on the ‘Controller’ icon.
— An error appears.

Problem typically affects only one (or some) user(s). Most users can work OK.

Symptom

Error number 2320
Citrix online plug-in Configuration Manager: No value could be found for (AllowHotKey) that satisfies all lockdown requirements. The lockdown requirements in force may be conflicting.
[OK]

Cause

Corrupt installation of the Citrix client (‘Citrix Receiver’) on the ‘bad’ end user’s client device.

Example

In one real-life example, the client device has incorrect registry entry, which was blocking the Citrix Receiver client from launching.

Resolving The Problem

Fix the corrupt Citrix client installation (on the end user’s PC).

Example:

In one real-life example, the fix was:

1. Logon to the client device as the ‘bad’ user (the person who gets the problem)

2. Click ‘Start — Run’ and type: REGEDIT

3. Navigate to here:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareCitrixICA ClientEngineLockdown ProfilesAll Regions

4. Double-click on the entry ‘EnableLockdown

5. Modify the value from the current (1) to: 0 (zero)

6. Click OK.

7. For some environments, it is necessary to repeat the above (steps 3-6) for the following registry key too:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWow6432NodeCitrixICA ClientEngineLockdown ProfilesAll Regions

8. Test.

Symptoms

The error number 2320 occurs on your Citrix Receiver client computer after removing Citrix Receiver 3.x and reinstalling another Receiver client.

“Citrix online plug-in Configuration Manager: No value could be found for (ClientHostedApps) that satisfies all lockdown requirements. The lockdown requirements in force may be conflicting.”

Cause

Removing or reinstalling Citrix Receiver can cause an incorrect setting to remain in the registry. Complete the steps in the Resolution section to fix the problem.

Resolution

Caution! This fix requires you to edit the registry. Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Be sure to back up the registry before you edit it

Complete the following procedure on the computer with the Citrix Receiver client.

  1. Open the Windows registry editor by going to START/Run/regedit.
  2. Navigate to the HK Local Machine registry key below and see if the registry key ClientHostedApps exists; remove it if it is present.
