Yesterday, Vita scene developer TheFloW released his ePSP CFW for PS Vita 3.60 owners. The release had a few bugs that puzzled several users, and was followed by a few quick patches throughout the day. This has now been fixed.

Error C1-2858-3 fixed with new release of Adrenaline

In order to run Adrenaline, users need to own one PSP game on their PS Vita, that they legally acquired from the PSN. The game is hijacked by Adrenaline, meaning gamers won’t be able to use the game for its intended use afterward. Many users typically use a demo or a cheap PSP mini for that purpose. Sadly, Adrenaline had a bug that prevented most features from working when it was installed from some specific games, in particular PSP minis. The new patch fixes error C1-2858-3, which many users encountered due to this original bug.

In particular, if you downloaded Adrenaline yesterday, it is possible you ran into this issue. This new release fixes this.

Hi,
I’d like to contribute in this forum. I cannot find definite solution of this problem so maybe I can help others with similar problem.

Problems:
Adrenaline show error C1-2858-3 with sd2vita adapter. I use Micro-SD Sandisk 128gb.

Step 1. Make sure the Adrenaline is working with Vita Memory Card
Step 2. Copy the ux0:Adrenaline folder to ur0:Adrenaline
Step 3. Proceed with sd2vita tutorial setup
Step 4. Edit ur0:tai/config.txt like this:

# This file is used as an alternative if ux0:tai/config.txt is not found.
# For users plugins, you must refresh taiHEN from HENkaku Settings for
# changes to take place.
# For kernel plugins, you must reboot for changes to take place.
*KERNEL
ur0:tai/gamesd.skprx
ur0:adrenaline/adrenaline.skprx
# henkaku.skprx is hard-coded to load and is not listed here
*main
# main is a special titleid for SceShell
ur0:tai/henkaku.suprx
*NPXS10015
# this is for modifying the version string
ur0:tai/henkaku.suprx
*NPXS10016
# this is for modifying the version string in settings widget
ur0:tai/henkaku.suprx
*NPEZ00104
ur0:adrenaline/adrenaline.suprx

Step 5. Restart the vita and Adrenaline now can be used with SD2Vita

Note : — Delete the ux0:tai/config first if exist
— I used latest adrenaline easy installer and the game default is Big Snooker [NPEZ00104]

Hey, I am still experiencing some problems with this.

As for, Step 2, do I copy or move the adrenaline folder to ur0? Do I still keep the adrenaline folder in ux0 on my mem card? Should I only have it on ur0, should I also have a copy of it on the sd2vita?

As for Step 3, do you have your sd2vita set up as the sd2vita automatically loading as ux0 or uma0? Which tutorial do you use, the one on GBA temp? I have followed one from another website.

2. I just copy the adrenaline folder from ux0 to ur0. I assumed your sd card as ux0
3. my sd2vita as ux0, just google it. I use tutorial from wolol*.net.

I use enso too,so everything is automount. U should proceed the sd2vita process first.

Yes, okay, I think that fixes all the ambiguities I had! I used another guide so I think there was a discrepancy in the procedure.

u don’t need the flash files on ur0. u can leave those on the sd2vita. however, I would agree that placing the adrenaline plugins on ur0 is the way to go. I’ve not had any issues running adrenaline on the micro sd by doing this.

Thanks, I never tried other alternatives. Just share what’s work for me. Flash files is not needed I agree. Just want to share simple and easy to follow guide. Hope there will be complete tutorial for sd2vita as for now I cannot find one which include the adrenaline setup. If you follow tutorial on youtube or other site, I think your adrenaline wont work.

Same here. Followed it properly, it works with my normal memory card before sd2vita.

Solved it.

By any chance did you use mltactivator?

never used mltactivator. just copied act.dat from my other psvita with enso and a working versione of adrenaline on it. on this new psvita, bought for my brother, adrenaline doesn’t work. i’m only using sd2vita on this one, the other psvita which has been «cloned» has its original psvita memory stick.

Oh good! That seemed to do the trick, thanks!

I think there’s problem with activation with ur new vita. U should try with vita memory card at ur new vita and see if adrenaline works on it.

but without activation you cannot install psp demo and 6.61 psp bios. i’ve succesfully installed psp minis game from adrenaline and patched the game too. when i launch the patched game, which as the right adrenaline icon, i get the c0-9255-1 error.

You see I had the same issue and it was a activation problem I used mltactivator and I was missing a line in the config and file placed in the tai folder.

obviously I have patience, lol. Ive been at this for about a week with no change. Let me go through the checklist……

    1. I have two demos downloaded unedited in a separate file.

    2. I downloaded and installed the latest version of QCMA 0.4.1 with ffmpeg, vitamptfork but not QT5 since I don’t have 5gb to spare unless it can be installed and used from Flashdrive. But I want to note that none of the videos or tutorials say anything thing about qt5

    3. latest version of psvimgtools 0.5.4

    4. the latest vhbl. followed link here….. https://hackinformer.com/2017/04/28/psv … le-fw3-65/

    5. downloaded and unzipped the snesx9-tyl and added it and the vhbl save data to psavedata

    6. The vita runs 3.65 and has the sd card formatted and the database rebuilt by holding power psbutton and right bumper

    7. I updated the database using qcma

    8. Opened psvimgtools added a custom account named emutime

    9. used psvimgtools to edit saddle club petz demo. ape quest and loco rider will not work. says no room on device. I have 14 gb free on vita

    10. after successfully editing the file using psvimgtools I refreshed database again and copied the edited file to my vita

    11. I then copied the vhbl01234 save data to the vita from the psavedata folder

    12. after that I copied the snes save data to the psvita

    13. opened the copied vhbl bubble on my vita

what happens next is that it gives the psp safty data screen. then goes white for a few minutes then gives me the c1 error I listed above. AS directed I rebuilt the database and repeated and repeated and repeated and well you get my frustration I’m sure.

I would update to 3.67 but I’m kind of afraid to at this point.

That’s precisely what I did. Also, I deleted the ARK_01234 folder created by FastARK and sent the downloaded and afterwards extracted ARK_01234 folder to the PS Vita and PS TV after switching its K.BIN file from the downloaded and extracted VitaBubble folder one.

Also, speaking of reading the installation instructions again, if it wasn’t for me, one wouldn’t even know he/she had to install Ape Quest or LocoRoco Midnight Carnival in the first place for this to work and the instructions aren’t still clear because it isn’t told if one may delete ArkFast after using it, if he/she has to run ARK-4 before replacing the ARK_01234 folders and with the K.BIN file, what do you mean by replacing ARK_10234 folder, i. e, if one should delete the ARK_01234 folder created by ArkFast and transfer the downloaded and exrracted ARK_01234 folder or if one should transfer the downloaded and extracted ARK_01234 folder to ux0:pspemu/PSP/SAVEDATA/ after replacing its K.BIN file and replace the files when asked, what does he/she have to do with Ape Quest or LocoRoco Midnight Carnival and when can he/she finally run ARK-4.

    changed the title
Read the installation instructions again. You have to copy the K.BIN file from VitaBubble folder into ARK_01234 folder.

Perhaps you should make a video showing the steps you are taking to install ARK so that we can see where the issue might be.

Since when did they got it right? Anyway, like I told before, after running a PSP game (I only have ISOs in the PSP, PS Vita and PS TV), I have the C1-2858-3 error and ARK closes (this is when ARK works on the PS TV). On the PS TV, after running ARK, it crashes often with that error (C1-2858-3) during the initial screen with a black background and white letters stating kernel exploit failed so one is unable to even reach the part where one chooses the game he/she wants to play (on the PS Vita at least one reaches it). Also, speaking about instructions, if it wasn’t me, one wouldn’t even know he/she supposedly had to install a PSN game before installing ARK.

Most of those people had issues back when firmware 3.65+ wasn’t supported, or they didn’t correcty installed K.BIN, they all got it eventually.
«Kernel exploit failed» means you didn’t install K.BIN correctly, follow the instructions and copy the correct K.BIN file for PS Vita.

I already did and how do you know their issues were fixed if they didn’t say it? Also, I always installed them in the 3.60 FW.

The error is very clear, you haven’t properly installed K.BIN from VitaBubble folder into ARK_01234 folder.
    It’s as simple as that.

Nobody else is encountering this problem. Perhaps you should make a video showing the steps you are taking to install ARK so that we can see where the issue might be.

Actually, there are some users also having this issue like one can read here and here.

both of those users eventually got it right by following instructions, you’re still the only one I know unable to get anything working at all. I can’t do anything unless you make a detailed description of what you’re doing so I can see the issue.

But I did it and one of the two issues I only have in the PS TV and sometimes I don’t, which is odd. What about the C1-2858-3 error issue?

    @JoseAaronLopezGarcia

What do you mean «what about the C1-2858-3 error»?
I’ve said it many times before and this is the last one: if you are unable to follow simple instructions, then it’s not an issue I (or anyone) can resolve.

I’m closing this and any further duplicate of this since nobody can confirm this as an actual issue.

Then it’s me who doesn’t follow instructions when you don’t even understand what I write and it was thanks to me the instructions were changed (the part where one has to download and install Ape Quest or LocoRoco Midnight Carnival before installing this app) so I guess they’re not always right so even if following them one may have problems (like I’m having now with the latest ones).

I’m having two different issues. When running a PSP game with ARK (I only have ISOs), it crashes with the C1-2858-3 error. This happens in both the PS Vita and the PS TV.

Regarding the other issue, which only happens in the PS TV, it’s more difficult to explain and happens right after running ARK (I can’t even get to the menu where one chooses the game he/she wants to play) so could I take a photo of it and show you? Anyway, when I don’t have it (which is rare) on the PS TV, I have the other issue (the C1-2828-3 one) often.

The users whose posts I showed you apparently have the same issues. And like I said many times, I followed the instructions and I still have these issues. What about the users whose posts I mentioned?

Adrenaline: Error C1-2858-3 after uploading games to ISO Folder

Well, noob here about Vita hacks in general. Catching up on the past months of releases, I got the Adrenaline Easy Installer’s latest version and used it to install Adrenaline on my Vita.

First, I instantly got error C1-2858-3 after booting Adrenaline for the first time. Search here and i other places and I learned that was normal and all I had to do was reinstalling Adrenaline. Worked perfectly, everything was ok.

I downloaded a few things for the PSP after that and, when I try to acess the memory stick from the PSP menu, it crashes and gives me the same C1-2858-3 error again.

Any idea about what might be causing this?
